A Sonoran Truth Editorial
Last week, Sorchych gave Tom McGuire his editorial column to pat himself on the back for the great job Tom has done as a Town Council Member these last 12 years. Tom rarely reads council information packets. He gets his voting instructions from Sorchych. Why bother being informed when the only reason you are on council is to do Don’s bidding?
Bentley of course, has been running her shrill of articles which no one believes because Linda, bless her heart, never verifies her stories with any of the victims of her attacks. Her purpose in life is also to Don’s bidding, regardless of the facts.
Recently Grace Meeth with a consortium of former Cave Creek officials sent out a flyer endorsing Mike Durkin, Eileen Wright, Reg Monochino, and Charles Spitzer to bring transparency and fiscal responsibility back to Cave Creek.
Some of the signatories on the flyer were formerly aligned with Sorchych, then Sorchych “threw them under the bus.” Sorchych used these activists to gain power and control in Cave Creek. He really didn’t care about their interests just so long his he established domain and control over Francia, Abujbarah and other wimps who fear the wrath of Don’s poison pen.
If you read between the lines of McGuire’s puff piece, Tom wants to turn Cave Creek into Orange County California with shopping centers and strip centers all down Carefree Highway and Cave Creek Rd. He calls this forward thinking. We call it suburban blight. This is the same ugliness that transformed “Old Town” Scottsdale from a “western town” into a fake Rodeo Drive.
McGuire says he supports the General Plan. Tell that to the folks who live around Wal Mart. How would you like to hear deliveries at 4 AM from your friendly neighborhood Chinese import Big Box retail store? Tom can’t be trusted. The Wal Mart history proves Tom to be a liar.
What about Bentley and her shrill on impact fees, water and sewer? Well, Bentley’s BS seems to stink about as bad as McGuire’s. First off, impact fees and building permits are not meant to be a profit center. They’re meant to be zero sum. If it costs the Town $1,800 to administer and supervise construction of a single family house, then that’s the cost of the permit- not $40,000. Currently Cave Creek collects sewer ‘impact’ fees from folks who install septic tanks. Outrageous.
The issues surrounding the Water Company are even worse. Yes, Cave Creek voters supported the idea of owning the Water Company BASED ON THE LIES TOLD TO THEM BY USAMA, FRANCIA, AND SORCHYCH! Buying the Water Company was not a need. It was a vendetta against Jay George who sold the company to Global Water to spite Sorchych and his sycophants in town hall. Had the company stayed private, the Arizona Corporation Commission would objectively set water rates. Now Usama is using water as another profit center.
And Sorchych calls himself a conservative. HA! Jacking up water rates is just another form of taxation.
Now to connect the dots. Don’s almost dead. He’s made life hell for many Creekers, most notably his neighbor, Jerry Freeman as Freeman’s letters and lawsuits testify. In order to jack up the revenues to pay for the folly and mismanagement of the Town under Usama and Francia, Cave Creek has to turn Carefree Highway into suburban blight. Once traffic is bumper to bumper on “Carefree Highway” the only way to get out of Town will be hell. So Cave Creek in conjunction with Sorchych and Cahava Springs want to build a new highway over the hills into Anthem and screw Freeman in the process. Jerry’s got a great horse set up that would end up being on a major thoroughfare. That’s McGuire’s visionary leadership– to convert Cave Creek into West Covina.
So Grace got it right. Vote for Mike Durkin, Eileen Wright, Reg Monachino, and Charles Spitzer. who will work with Adam Trenk to provide transparency and fiscal responsibility in Cave Creek.
