Mike Durkin addressed the current council on May 28th and did the usual political bullsh*t thanking the current council for their work. He then acknowledged that four new council members were elected because the Town wanted change.
Let’s tell the Truth Mike. Mostly, Creekers are apathetic. How else could the Troika of Sorchych, Francia and Usama run such a corrupt municipality?
Mike went on to thank Francia for saying in their private meeting on May 23rd to which Usama and Linda Bentley attended (Bentley was asked to leave, but Usama stayed) that he (Francia) would put anything on the agenda as he ‘has always done in the past 14 years’.
Really?
How is it that the Town passed an Ordinance contrary to state law giving Francia sole and exclusive domain over the Town Council agenda? Ask Shea Stanfield, Grace Meeth, or Kim Brennan about trying to get salient issues on the agenda which displeased the Troika. Francia’s misogynistic response to Brennan at one point was to call her “missy,” as if she wasn’t old enough to have a say in town governance. Sorchych of course, started running a smear campaign against Kim in order to get her off Town Council. Usama has absolute disdain for women—they should be wearing veils and stay at home cooking and doing the laundry.
Then Durkin said he wanted an agenda item calling for a vote of confidence in the current Town Manager for the next council meeting. Kudos Mike.
Let’s see if the Mayor keeps his word.
