A Sonoran Truth Editorial with a little help from our friends, July 27, 2013.
Steve La Mar does it again. In the current SN Letters to the Editor, http://www.sonorannews.com/archives/2013/130724/letters2e.html
La Mar continues to insist on acquiring $50 + Million of open space land when the Town is broke which is obvious by the fact that Cave Creek DID NOT HAVE A STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM! Yet Sorchych sociopaths gush at the competency of former Town Manager Abujbarah. I guess they gush because Usama was operating the Town like a Third World Nation state and he was the King. Contrast Cave Creek to our neighbor Carefree who has always had a street maintenance program. Streets are Carefree’s and Cave Creek’s single biggest asset. For La Mar to hammer the new council for insisting on a streets maintenance program to be drawn up instead of diving into more debt they can’t afford by buying the State Trust Land is beyond irresponsible; it’s insane!
The fact that Cave Creek DIDN’T have a street maintenance program in place before now is a disgrace. The councils on which Steve was seated didn’t buy state land because the money to do so is not there– Cave Creek didn’t even have the money to manage a street maintenance program. If he had been so gung ho on that as THE PRIORITY, why did the town not purchase the land on his watch? The Sorchych Slate (a/k/a the Out to Lunch Bunch) is really reaching to come up with this as the worst criticism they can throw at the new council majority. People are not idiots. They’ll figure this out. Oh- and case you’re wondering if Steve has a track record of being less than ethical or intelligent, read what the Phoenix New Times had to say back in 2012: http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/valleyfever/2012/05/steven_lamar_cave_creek_counci.php
Citizens of Cave Creek did the right thing in dumping Steve. leave him and his looney logic in the trash.
