An open letter to Don Sorchych. A Sonoran Truth Editorial, August 1, 2013.
Don- don’t misquote us. In your “My View” editorial you claim that we “wrote that he [Adam Trenk] should have recused himself.” We wrote that “Trenk should have disclosed his employer’s relationship with the solar industry,” IF the right wing blog that you quoted is accurate. http://www.sonorantruth.org/2013/07/25/trenk-and-transparency/
We considered Glassman’s approach to resolving the “horse trail” / easement issue sufficiently inappropriate to warrant the revocation of our endorsement of Rodney. Trenk also has a relationship with the developer of Cahava Springs. We have previously chided the entire legal profession of being prone to psychopathy in our expose of Steve La Mar. http://www.sonorantruth.org/2013/07/30/the-consequences-of-la-mars-psychopathic-tendencies/ Trenk is also attorney and may harbor psychopathic tendencies. We share this not to disparage Adam, but to caution Adam that he walks the razor’s edge. There is no question that Trenk is a talented and intelligent man worthy of being our Mayor, our Senator or our Governor. But if he falls prone psychopathic behavior inherent in his profession, then we would withdraw our endorsement of Adam just as we did with Rodney.
Incredulously, you raise the issue of Spur Cross. The Spur Cross deal still raises questions in the minds of many because of your involvement and how you trashed Gary Schmidt and other activists most of whom now despise you. Gary Birnbaum worked for Charlie Keating, the swindler who was convicted back in the 80’s. Speaking of transparency, the cost of the Spur Cross deal went up exponentially with your and Gary’s involvement causing many in Cave Creek to be suspicious that one of the reasons why you, Usama, and Vince have been so tenacious in maintaining totalitarian control of the Town is to preclude any inquiry into what really happened. There is no statue of limitations on corruption.
Our blog tells the truth. If anyone involved in town leadership or management is not adhering to the principles of sound governance, then we will address their wrongdoings. We are not the mouthpiece for “the Slate” as you deem the new council members- not like the incumbents and the Sonoran News. Your demeanor has done more to divide this town and cause it harm than anyone. The sooner you shut up and leave be it intentional or six feet under, the better.
