Freeman replies to Rodney

Rodney,

Thank for your prompt response.

I applaud your quest for transparency and openness in Town business but it’s clear that the email method of asking for information requests is so loose and unwieldy as to be uncontrollable.  Your accomplishments are duly noted and greatly appreciated in finally getting Morning Star repaired and back to standard.  And the Western Town Challenge has been great fun too. But, as you frequently comment, that’s in the past.  Let’s move forward.

It would seem the best path moving forward is to use the discipline and organization already established in the Town’s Request for Information procedure using Form 8530 TCC.  In so doing, there is no favoritism and the requests are answered in the order received.  Consequently, it is fair and equitable to all and for all to see and track.   This is  real transparency.

Yesterday, I re-entered my FOIA request using this method which was accepted by Ms. Carsia Monday at 3:55pm.  I also attached supplemental information that narrows the search in an effort to ease the work of responding to the request.  It is much more explicit than your form allows so it should be easier to fulfill.  I look forward to seeing the information.

Per your request, I am including the cordial email I sent to Ms. Dyrek on Sept. 4th   that was not acknowledged:

Here it is:

Subject: Arizona Municipal Risk Retention Pool – Deductible for Cave Creek

Good Afternoon Mrs. Dyrek,

Welcome back from the League Meeting in Oro Valley.

I have a question about Arizona Municipal Risk Retention Pool (AMRRP) with regard to Cave Creek.

Specifically, I’d like to know what the deductible is for Cave Creek for lawsuits.

I know some of the Towns nearby pay an annual deductible of $10,000 for similar coverage.

I’d be interested to know the Town deductible.

Will I need to file an FOIA for this or will this request suffice?

Thank you for your help and cooperation.

Best regards,

Jerry Freeman
