The S’Norin News Ain’t the Official Paper Anymore!

“While questioning the status of Scottsdale may be fun, it’s no substitute for sending out a clear and unadulterated message to the editor of the Town’s official paper to back off, shut up and support the will of the people; support the Town, or stop being the Town’s official paper. Period.”
I don’t know if you heard this but before the election one of the PAC people supporting the challengers called the paper in Gila Bend that Sorchych used as the excuse to publish the Cave Creek Town advertising, since the SN doesn’t qualify as a circulating newspaper.  The Gila Bend paper’s website was down, and no one was picking up the phone.  They got lucky one day when trying.  The publisher was there and picked up.  Without saying why, the PAC guy asked about the paper.  The publisher said times are tough and the subscription rate had fallen to around 600.  Those numbers no longer qualify it as a “circulating paper”, a legal requirement for municipal ads.  So it’s not even legal to print the paid CC ads in the SN anymore, which is why they have moved the ads to the AZ Republic.  This, of course, only occurred because people got elected who knew about the Gila Bend situation, or SN would still have the paid ads.  Several of us are guessing that any CC ads seen in the SN, and there were some for a while after the paid ads were moved, were things DS pulled of the town website and published for free so he could continue to have people think he was the “official newspaper of Cave Creek”.  Gila Bend also published government ads in Spanish and English, a federal requirement that DS refused to follow.  I can’t say I blame him, in principle, but the law is the law, and you can’t mess with the feds.
Anyway, I thought you just might enjoy letting people know the SN is no longer the “official newspaper” of Cave Creek.  We all like to rub Sorchych’s nose in his own shit.  Roar!
Editor’s Comment: Russia follows your approach to Due Process. The official language of Russia is Russian. If you move to Russia and don’t read or write Russian, then that is your problem– not the State’s. Putin has made it quite clear that America’s “politically correct” approach is an utter failure. That said, Switzerland has four official languages and seems to work just fine. Those Americans who find the Supreme Court’s interpretation of Due Process have a choice. Moscow beckons.
