Fascists find elections annoying because dictatorships don’t need democracy. So the SS has made it official: They are recalling their “slate” of council persons because they can’t depend upon Trenk, Spitzer, Durkin or Monochino to do their bidding.

Mayor and Members of Council:
I’m writing to inform you that four applications for Recall Petition Serial Numbers were filed with me this afternoon by the political action committee Cave Creek Caring Citizens chaired by Susan Clancy with the Treasurer being Hani Saba. I have attached copies of the applications as well as the political committee statement of organization to this email. The members of the Town Council that are named in the applications are as follows:
Charlie Spitzer
Adam Trenk
Mike Durkin
Reg Monachino
Copies of recall petitions were given to the applicants along with other required materials. You will find information in the bottom left portion of the application regarding the number of required valid signatures they need to collect for each person being recalled as well as their deadline to file the petitions.
I have a standing public records request from the Arizona Republic for any recall related filings so this information will be provided to the press in a separate email before I leave the office today.

I have a few different emails from Council Members so let me try to briefly summarize the process for you all. All information regarding the recall process is generally found in ARS 19-202 and up. Calculation of signatures is set by case Johnson v. Maehling, 123 Ariz. 15, 597 P2d 1.
PART 1 –
Once the applicant circulates petitions they have 120 days to return to the Clerk. I have a review period of 10 days to perform certain tasks, then the county has a review period of 60 days to perform certain tasks, then the Clerk has another 5 day period to determine if there are sufficient valid signatures to qualify for the recall. If so, the Clerk officially files the petitions and notifies the Mayor that a recall will be placed on the ballot.
Then the Clerk notifies the officer of the recall petition being filed against him—the officer has ten days in which to file a statement of not more than 200 words defending their official conduct—that would be on the ballot. If the officer does not resign within 5 days of the date of filing the clerk calls an election within fifteen days…etc.
PART 2- persons running against an officer get their name placed on the ballot by circulating nomination petitions—those nomination papers and petitions must be filed not more than 90 nor less than 60 days prior to the date of the recall election.
We don’t know the date of election until petitions are filed, reviewed and qualified for the ballot.

Susan Clancy and Hani Saba are running the PAC They filed the attached applications to recall Trenk, Spitzer, Durkin and Monochino. Presuming Clancy and Saba can cross the rather low threshold of voters needed to sign the Petition, Trenk, Durkin, Spitzer, and Monochino either resign or file a 200 word statement defending their performance; that their six months in office has been: 1. fiscally responsible; 2. that they did not make misrepresentations to the public in the 2013 election; and 3. that the current affairs of Cave Creek governance are far more transparent than in the past.
In other words, the sore losers are grasping at straw in order to legitimize their waste of time and money having the Town and County ramp up for a recall election. Unfortunately, the Sorchych Sycophants are sociopaths. Logic is not going to alter their behavior.
