The Town Council meeting of Jan. 27th and Feb. 3rd is one of the worst examples of a lynch mob hysteria we’ve ever seen. There was plenty of wild, asinine charges, statements and a total lack of facts and truth simply because it was not convenient for the lynch mob to hear the truth.
The fact is the Town came to Freeman’s easement in March of 2012 and announced they there taking it over and making it a public trail, a Public Park, at Freeman’s liability and maintenance. There isn’t a single soul with half a brain that would have agreed to this. It’s a nightmare scenario of potential accidents and hugely expensive maintenance costs.
Neither did Freeman. He said “No, you aren’t going to do this!” Then went to court and got a Restraining order for that very act.
The lynch mob that gets by with impunity for their defamation in the “Court of Francia” is oblivious of the facts. For that matter, most of the council is too.
There was no access to the area the lynch mob wants to illegally seize until 1991. Freeman built that road in 1991…..up a cliff! Freeman’s road and property were not even part of the Town of Cave Creek until 1997! Well after he owned the property and well before Sorchych ever moved in next to his property.
But facts don’t matter to these dunderheads. They see his road and want it! Is there anyone on the council that understands the concept of property rights?
Freeman owned this property and the road they want to use for 14 years before Ian Cordwell drew a line for trail right through Freeman’s house in 2005. What was he thinking? Better yet, does he think?
Cordwell is a sorry excuse for a planner. He reassured the Council on Jan. 27th that a crossing that clearly violated the annexation agreement was legal. Cordwell was dead wrong!
But that brings up another issue. The Town has private roads all over this municipality because they are too cheap to build a decent infrastructure of Town roads but don’t mind passing the expense to private land owners. Is this the way to run a Town? Cordwell thinks so.
We’ll see what Jankowski does. He’d be a fool to buy Cordwell’s line of thinking. Or anything else that Cordwell does. Cordwell is incompetent.
So what does Cordwell do? He goes to Cahava Springs’ owner Mark Stapp and “exacts” a trail on the condition Stapp build a road that complies with MAG standards….60’ ROW.
Stapp can’t get his plans through the Town without paying this exaction and is held hostage until he complies. You know the rest; Cordwell didn’t do his job and screwed it up royally.
All because they don’t want to make a Town Road…and they can’t by their own agreement that Cordwell seems to be oblivious about due to the fact it’s against the 1997 Annexation agreement!
If the Town really wants to do this, they can buy the road, make it public and put in a trail. But they can’t…it’s in violation of their own agreement! The one Cordwell is ignorant about.
They could also go to court using eminent domain and have a judge set a price for the deeded easement and buy it through the court using eminent domain. But NO…they’re too cheap. And, again, they’d have to make it to MAG standards and it would be a public road….repeating…it’s a violation of the annexation contract….a legal contract.
They’d rather strong arm Freeman using the goons in the lynch mob with their hysterical venom, vitriol and vituperation.
Is this what the Town of Cave Creek is? Is the Town character that of ignorant loud mouths with a mob mentality of “horsemen” shouting epithets at the council members, abuse and passing false information without so much as checking a single fact?
This Town has sunk to a new low thanks to Don Sorchych, Steve LaMar, Terry Smith, John Hoeppner, Bob Williams, Janet Mohr, Hani Saba, Susan Clancy and the rest of Sorchych lemming-like dunderheads.
Sorchych doesn’t understand “who” writes the Sonoran Truth. The Truth is All of Us. Hopefully this editorial will help him and the rest of his cretins understand that the Truth is a chorus- not just one voice. It’s time for the Truth to expose the lies, the deception, the corruption that Sorchych and his cronies have promulgated for over the last decade. Truth will triumph. It always does.
