A Sonoran Truth Editorial, February 20, 2014
Two years ago, we were engaged in an election. Mayor Francia made a fool out of himself with a horrific emotional outburst and basically vowed not to work with the four new council members.

Putting Vince’s foolishness aside for the moment, the gist of debate focused on economic viability and density. Density is determined by our General Plan which is also up for “re-election.” http://www.sonorantruth.org/2015/02/19/why-we-fight/
Unfortunately, neither the issue of density or economic viability is being addressed with any rational logic in this recall election. These sobering issues of how to manage the business of running Cave Creek are cast off to engage in stuff of no meaning or relevance to the future of Cave Creek.
Economic viability and density do not go hand and hand. http://www.newgeography.com/content/002987-density-not-issue-the-urban-scaling-research
Cave Creek was incorporated to stop Bob Kite from building a grocery store in the center of town. It was an emotional issue without reason. The unintended consequences of this incorporation to stop a grocery store was exacerbated by the former Town Manager and previous council putting the Town deep into debt. To counter their financial foolishness, we had to have a suburban savior. Enter Wal Mart, the Queen whore of all big box, made in China retailers. That’s what is keeping Cave Creek afloat.
As Cave Creek gets more and more suburban along Carefree Highway and Cave Creek Rd., we kill the goose the laid the golden egg. What makes Cave Creek special is the ambiance of the Town Core and open space. But if tourists can’t get to the Town core, the core becomes marginalized, and the quality of life in Cave Creek becomes compromised.
For what profit our Town to gain open space but lose our soul?
