The PC has had 7 members since inception, more than 25 years, why change now? The reasons you will hear from Council are ridiculous and bogus. And you can bet there was prior discussion and/or polling (OML violation).
One of the reasons Lamar will give is that there wasn’t a quorum at the PC meeting scheduled for April 16. Ted Bryda was on vacation, which was known by the chairman for months. Bruce McNeil was away on business, which was also known ahead of time, and Dan Baxley was absent at th last minute, supposedly ‘sick’ according to chairman David Smith. So why didn’t Smith cancel the meeting? No — he’s in on the machine. He waited until the commission was seated on the dais, and made a spectacle of it…setting the table for the action being taken this coming Monday night.
At the TC meeting November 17, 2014, Ernie Bunch tried to do the same thing by introducing the [same] resolution. It was defeated 0-6. He even voted AGAINST his own resolution after hearing Public Comment from Dr Bill Allen! Minutes attached, please read them for ideas on what to speak about. You can even just get up to the podium and re-read publc comment from 11-17-2014. Ted Bryda, current PC member was against the reduction. David Smith (current PC Chair) was against the change as well.
To preserve our town, keep Eileen Wright (Vice-Chair) on the Planning Commission, and fill the PC vacancy, we need from you:
