Thank God Dictator Don Sorchych is almost dead. Don is the master of “Doublespeak.” He calls us the Dark Side when Don’s a friggin’ Nazi. Hard to get any darker than being a Nazi. He rails over and over and over again that Trenk, Spitzer, Durkin and Monachino were a Slate. Seriously Don, if those guys were a Slate, they would have hired a real Town Manager to clean out all your minions in Town Hall. Instead, they hired a narcissist. There was no shared platform of values, ideas or strategy. They couldn’t even agree on doing a forensic audit or firing Gary Birnbaum. You should thank them for their naivete.
Lots of folks feel Don runs Cave Creek. He advertises his candidates. They get lots of positive ink. We call them political ads which should be assigned a dollar value and be included in the cost of the candidate’s campaign. Don uses Doublethink to rationalize his conduct. There is no question that the current council and the Mayor are all Sorchych sycophants. they even choreographed the vote against Eileen Wright at 4-3 so that Don could claim that his new appointees are “not a Slate.” What bullocks.

He got his wish with the Planning Commission. Never mind the lawfulness or ethics of Ian’s antics and the Four Henchmen, no. What matters is control. Don can now pad the Planning Commission with two more of his loyal lemmings.
Hiring the Sonoran News as the Town’s official newspaper is akin to dialysis. Don is dying. His paper runs in the red. Getting the Town’s business is a blood transfusion and frankly, totally predictable. Dictatorships need propaganda.
Don also wants to rid Cave Creek of Gary Birnbaum, a/k/a Mariscal Weeks / Dickinson Wright. Let’s remember that Don has a nasty habit of throwing his friends in front of the bus when they are no longer needed. Ask Grace Meeth, Shea Stanfield, or Anna Marsolo. Don came to power on the backs of these activist women only to trash them once his hegemony was established. Birnbaum used to be Don’s buddy. Now Gary is going to be road kill.
Candidly, and we don’t say this often, but we concur with canning Birnbaum and his corrupt band of thieves who claim to be lawyers. Fredda Bisman can’t figure out how to get out of a wet paper bag. Don attributes Fredda’s return to represent Cave Creek and the Trenk Slate’s doing. According to Trenk, Adam wanted Mariscal Weeks gone though Adam admired Birnbaum, but then Adam admired Glassman, enough said. It was the other members of the “Trenk Slate” who were so full of themselves that they didn’t want to be associated with anything Adam promoted. So much for a “Slate”… or loyalty.
We suspect that the only attorney at Mariscal Weeks who was willing to work in the Sorchych cesspool of Town Hall was Fredda. Fredda may have looked to Trenk as a breath of fresh air, the last gasp of a dying municipality. It strains credulity that Sorchych now claims that the $20 Million price tag for the water company was due to Birnbaum and not Abujbarah when Gary and Usama were thick as thieves and Birnbaum even allowed Usama to run up an $80,000 personal tab with Mariscal Weeks. Talk of conflict of interest. How can the law firm that personally represented Usama represent the Town in a lawsuit against the Town by Usama. Logic is not their forte.
We’re not sure where Don gets the statistic that 81% of the Town dislikes the lane closures, but isn’t this hypocrisy? Don claims to be pro Cave Creek business. Town businesses generate a lot of cash flow during these festivities. Just sayin’…
But in keeping with Reality Check, let’s look at how the Town came to connect Mark Way with Military Road as an alternate traffic path when Cave Creek Rd. gets squeezed or closed down.
Mariscal Weeks wrote a Development Agreement for a couple of boys who wanted to play developers. deed of gift- Mark Way. Splitting a parcel of land into 2 lots with the requirement to dedicate a new road is a subdivision. ARS 9-463.02
Now go find where the Planning Commission vetted this subdivision and the subdivision was approved by the Town Council. Nope, Zilch, Nada. Now go find where Mariscal Weeks or Ian Cordwell as the Town’s Director of Planning told these boys that they had the right to challenge the Town’s requirement for a right of way per ARS 9-500.12 and 9-500.13.
Pretty serious stuff- violating Due Process and Property Rights protected by the Constitution. Seems Eileen Wright had it right: The Town was engaging in unlawful activity. But then, this is just another of Don’s anomalies, like bitching about the condition of our roads, when he refused to help his neighbor pay for costs to maintain their shared easement. Freeman had to take cheapskate Sorchych to Court to collect.

In the March 11th edition of the S’norin News, Don listed the mandatory actions his squeler pigs were to deliver. The first was to fire dickinson Wright, the Town’s law firm. It’s on the agenda for May 18th – a fait accompli.
What they aren’t saying is who they want to replace Dickinson Wright. We think it’s someone as dirty as Don and the Town Council. Betcha it might be Sims Murray. Don likes Jeff Murray, because Jeff is just like Don… disingenuous. Murray’s disingenuousness is even official.
Judge David Talamente called Sims disingenuous in a court order!
Sorchych went after the only person left on the Planning Commission that is not a Sorchych Sycophant. Mrs. Wright thinks straight, has the courage of her convictions and was the ONLY person to stand up and expose the Cordwell criminality in bypassing the commission on important town issues. For that kind of integrity, Mrs. Wright was removed. Not a single soul left on the Planning Commission spoke on Mrs. Wright’s behalf…..even though EILEEN WRIGHT WAS VOTED VICE CHAIR OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION! Don railed against Mrs. Wright for years and even tried to deny her civil rights. He brazenly told the Town Manager Jankowski to order her not to attend a public trial!
You can safely assume all the rest of the Planning Commission are Sorchych boot lickers and when he says “JUMP!” they will just ask “HOW HIGH?” Grace Meeth saw the handwriting on the wall. They railroaded her once before and she saw it coming again and resigned. That leaves two vacancies for Sorchych to fill with his slate. We’re sure Susan E. Demmitt will be appointed. Mrs. Dimmitt is an attorney for the firm that works with Mark Stapp to get Cahava Springs developed and built. No matter about a conflict of interest. Stapp is admittedly the 4 Piggy’s and Sorchych’s favorite developer.
Sorchych’s disingenuousness is flagrant. He talks about how much money was spent in the last couple of elections. We looked at the contribution lists and didn’t find anyone that gave more than a few hundred bucks….EXCEPT FOR THE ONES THAT GAVE TO THE SORCHCH SLATE!
RANCHO MANANA GAVE $10, 0000.00 TO GET THE SORCHYCH SLATE ELECTED! YES, TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS! There’s a reason for the saying “Follow the money”. You need to watch this one.
But in ultimate disingenuousness, Boss Hogg Sorchych wants you to totally ignore the TENS OF THOUSANDS of free publicity he printed in his newspaper for more than year before the election to get his slate of 4 piggy’s elected. The criminal justice system and County election commission need to investigate and prosecute!
