Over the next few months, the Sonoran Truth in concert with the Desert Foothills Chronicle will expose the wrongdoings of the former Town Manager Usama Abujbarah, previous councils and Cave Creek employees and contractors.

On The Sonoran Truth, you have a new menu item “J’Accuse”  http://www.sonorantruth.org/jaccuse/.
It states “Over the next few months, the Sonoran Truth in concert with the Desert Foothills Chronicle will expose the wrongdoings of the former Town Manager Usama Abujbarah, previous councils and Cave Creek employees and contractors.”
Although we may have common goals at times, and may write similar stories, the Desert Foothills Chronicle is not working in concert with you or anyone else on their stories nor are they planning to do so.  Please remove this item from your website.
Thank you.

J’Accuse was not our idea, but Sara Vannucci’s.  Sara is the “attorney” for the editors of the Sonoran Truth. Sara felt it best to address the accusations against the former Town Manager in the Sonoran Truth rather than in the Desert Foothills Chronicle. The Sonoran Truth is focused on justice and exposing the corruption and incompetence of  Creek Creek governance which we believe has been caused in part by the poison pen of Don Sorchych. The Sonoran Truth is not a commercial enterprise.

The Desert Foothills Chronicle started with a small stipend from Al Trenk. It appears that the intent of the Desert Foothills Chronicle is to create a “feel good” space where Sara and Scott can make some money.

Unlike Sara, we do not think Cave Creek is the epitome of democratic / representational governance. See her recent editorial. We find it foolhardy that anyone would consider anything in our community, “forever.”

That said, perhaps the Desert Foothills Chronicle has had a change of heart and intends to publish J’Accuse or some form thereof, in their “paper?” John Vannucci wrote a letter in the DFC last week citing Usama’s 10 big mistakes. Sara asked others in the community to write follow up letters to John’s post listing their actual damages caused by Cave Creek under Usama’s management. Sara claims that she is “keeping a chart, like the Community Christmas drive, with a column that illustrates costs to the individual, costs to the town, and costs to the taxpayer in the town.”  She wrote about this last week in her editorial.

We stand by our previous post regarding the corruption and incompetence in Cave Creek- corruption and incompetence that could have been prevented or stopped had Town Council members upheld their oath of office; had citizen groups acted ethically instead of rubber stamping the Mayor’s wishes to keep Usama as the Town Manager.

But it is the opinion of the Sonoran Truth that Usama acted in concert with others to deprive certain citizens in Cave Creek of property rights and due process. It is the opinion of the Sonoran Truth that Usama did not possess the legal expertise to accomplish some of his nastiest deeds and thus Mariscal Weeks appears to be complicit. Just like the Dreyfus matter which Zola made famous, it was not just one person, but an enterprise of officers, judges and politicians acting in concert who persecuted a Jewish Captain to cover up their criminal conduct.

We think Usama acted in concert with others to affect the malfeasance in Cave Creek. We think Usama is being blamed because of his faith. The far right of the Republican Party is rewriting the foundation of our country, and Cave Creek appears to be a haven for extreme right wing conservatism. It’s not said, but insinuated, that Usama had to go. He’s not “western.” Glassman is more in keeping with the Hollywood image of a Cowboy to be manager of Cave Creek, and it seems that our current leadership is obsessed with image. Image is everything. Image is what gets you elected to the next office. Image accelerates your career. Image is why the Desert Foothills Chronicle exists.

But image is an illusion. Image is not the Truth. Being obsessed with image is not efficient, but incompetent- just look at the mess in Washington. Apparently, the Desert Foothills Chronicle does not want the “image” of acting in concert with the Sonoran Truth. That’s fine with us. Let’s see what the Chronicle writes about the Town’s transgressions and who was complicit with Usama over the last 14 years.
